2020 Beauty Resolutions
Almost all of us start each new year with new goals, but does that list include any beauty resolutions? We’ve heard it before: Work out, eat healthier, less drinking, get organized, and the list goes on and on. But, we should all have one or two beauty resolutions to help feel better about ourselves in 2020. The key to these resolutions is they have to be achievable! A few simple changes can help you look and feel your best for the new year. Here are some simple beauty resolutions you can implement into your life.
Improvement
Are you still using the same skincare you were using five years ago? If so, reevaluate your skin concerns and make sure you’re using the correct products. If you aren’t using a skin treatment in your daily regime, now’s the time! The same goes for your cosmetics. Not all makeup is created equal. It also expires and doesn’t work to its best potential over time. Update your look and get new products with healthy ingredients. Do you straighten or curl your hair? If you can bake cookies at a lower temp than what your hot tool setting, it will damage your hair! You may want to upgrade to a heat shield and sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.
Get out of your comfort zone.
Instead of being stuck in the same old beauty look, be daring! Be bold! Try something new that you find fascinating, even if it’s not necessarily “you.” Wear some new lip colors, unique nail art, or new hair color. Just go for it. You won’t know how it will look unless you try. Who knows, you might be pleasantly surprised! Our artists at Refined Beauty in Naperville can help you get out of your comfort zone to try a new style out.
Clean
Think about how often you use your hair and makeup brushes. Now try to think about the last time you cleaned them. Dirt, oil, and bacteria like to build upon these tools very quickly. A dirty brush can be what’s causing your breakouts or what makes your hair feel greasy. Make sure to wash your brushes at least once a week!
Drink more aqua
I’m sure you already know drinking water is essential, but did you know you should be drinking 2 liters a day? Water can help with the appearance of your skin by slowing down the aging process. It will ward off fine lines and wrinkles! Just like our skin, the hair also needs lubrication from the inside out — lack of moisture results in dry, brittle hair. Drinking plenty of water also helps to eliminate scalp issues like dandruff. Try drinking 2 liters a day!
