Whether you are new to lash extensions or a lash extension queen, we think that it is important to know the right information to help you take care of your lash extensions.
Lash extensions are delicate and require a little TLC to help make them last to your next fill-in.
There are 3 reasons why you want to take care of your lash extensions:
- Lash health. If you don’t take proper care of your lashes it can slow down the growth of new lashes. Your lids can become itchy from the buildup of dead skin if they are not cleaned properly and regularly.
- Keep them looking better for longer. Eyelash extensions that are coated in makeup, mascara, and strip lashes do not look great!
- Fill-ins and cost factor: If you look after your lashes and retain them well, you won’t need to come in as frequently or for lengthy appointments, which will save you time and money.
Do:
- Keep your lashes dry for 24-36 hours. Do try to avoid steamy environments, hot showers, saunas, etc. Avoiding these things will help your adhesive cure as strongly as possible.
- Be sure to use oil free products around your eyes.
- Cleanse them everyday and use a proper at home lash care kit.
- Avoid heat. (If you can feel the heat on your face, your lashes can too!)
- Brush them gently.
- Avoid mascara.
Don't:
- Rub your eyes aggressively.
- Sleep on your face.
- Use oil around your eyes.
- Wear waterproof makeup.
- Pick at your lashes.
It is wise to book your re-fill in advance. You will want to rebook your next appointment at the time of your service to ensure that your lashes stay fluffy and gorgeous!
